The always present and on duty, Janitor Fish.
They are called the janitor fish. they clean our aquarium without nothing in return. They help aquarium enthusiast like us from algae that thrive in our tank. I love them and can rely on them every time.
Some people who get them and put them in their tank and suddenly they don't like the fish anymore. They throw it away in our lake in laguna. Laguna de bay is one of the biggest lake in the Philippines.

Many fishermen in our country rely on this vast lake for keeping their fish such as tilapia and milk fish. They do this as their primary source of income.
The problem begun when some people throw their sucker fish or janitor fish in the lake. The janitor fish soon dominates the whole lake and their number begins to rise steadily and fast. They are now consider as pest by the fishermen because they eat the young fish and the egg that the mature fish lays. They are public enemy number one of the fishermen.
We can eat this sucker fish but eating it would be a waist of time since you can only get little meat out of them, so things should be done regarding this matter. Many people think of ways that would address this problem but it's kinda late i think. We can't eradicate and kill them all because killing them might kill other fish also. While harvesting them is also waist of time.
But when i heard on the television show, there is this one young man who finds solution to the problem. He catches them by the hundreds and use the janitor fish oil as a source of fuel. Nice idea and very smart. Until now they are perfecting the technology to extract the oil from the janitor fish. Good work. I hope you will succeed, and hoping it would bring back our respect for our ever patient and always on duty janitor fishes.
To all pleas take care of your pets and be responsible...
Thanks.....
